Professor Simon Lindgren specializes in Internet and social media studies. He is particularly interested in social movements, influence and authority online, digital activism, community and creativity.
Simon's research deals with how individuals and groups navigate between the Internet's potentials for participation and democratization on the one hand, and its risks for exclusion and exploitation on the other. Keywords are power, resistance, production and collaboration.
Furthermore, he is affiliated with HUMlab where he works with developing research methods for analyzing social networks and discourses in digital settings.
