Undergraduate and graduate studies
The department offers courses at the undergraduate level in Sociology and Social Psychology. The Department also provides courses in various subjects related to the Sociology of Working Life. The Sociology Programme started autumn 2002 and is run by the department as well as the Programme for Library and Information Science.
The Department of Sociology is also involved in a number of joint study programmes with other departments. The Study Programme for Human Resource Management is run in co-operation with the Departments of Education and Psychology. The Study Programme for Clinical Psychology involves Sociology, Psychology, Education and Applied Psychology.
Undergraduate classes are mostly conducted in the Swedish language, but a large part of the literature is in English, especially at the more advanced levels. Some courses are designed for international students and taught in English: Comparative Social Policy, Sociology of Culture, Evaluation, Global Sociology, Work and Family in Transition, Living Conditions and Social Problems, Labour Market and Family Sociology, Comparative Social Welfare.
